Petter has bought two Citroen C4 WRC

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Petter has today announced that he has bought two Citroen C4 WRCs from Citroen Sport. Petter says the buy is a result of tough discussions between him and the manufacturer. The big question here is to which extent Petter has control over the cars when it comes to engine mappings, configurations and so on. The more control, the more likely Petter will be to be able to challenge for wins – and at least according to himself, Petter says he’ll be able to challenge for top placings.

Solberg expects to have his budget complete in the end of next week, and announce his team and sponsors after that. Until then, read todays announcement here.

Of course you’re allowed to have some kind of breakdown after such a thing, and it’s now the interesting things start. We’ll get to see his real strength, if he can come back re-motivated and do good results during the rest of the season. Time will show…

Video: Petter Solberg with engine trouble on the road section

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

As we know Petter had some engine troubles in Rally Norway. How much of them that were caused by real errors and how much of then that were caused by Citroen’s resistance to give Petter the right material I don’t know. Anyway, here are a movie of Petter and Phil checking the engine and discussing it with the team.
