Why did you find it necessary to single out the fact that those involved are white?
Does it matter what race they are?

Citroën would have to be extremely naïve not to be aware of this from the beginning of their business relationship with Rautenbach, which means they’re probably betting on the public not caring about it.

I don’t think there is anything intrinsically wrong with Citroën taking Rautenbach’s money, since businesses, whether they are owned by corporations or by individuals, should not be held responsible for their customer’s crimes; it would be a human rights violation in itself. However, even though they should not be expected to do the state’s duty of tracking “dirty” money, I must agree with Rasmus that in this case Citroën should consider the implications of such suspicion on their public image. In the end, a certain public perception is all the return they get from their huge investment in their WRC team, so it is in their best interest to be proactive about this.

Anon: Personally, I am really happy to find a blogger who deals with the more obscure parts of the sport, like politics and money, since there already are enough forums dedicated to passionate, even violent discussion on who will win what. =)

So I’ll keep on writing about money – because that’s very much what rally is about. Everyone involved knows that – perhaps Rautenbach most of all.

You’re right that we might not know the full story here, but I don’t judge anyone – I just present the result of research made from the sources that I also give you to read on your own. If Rautenbach himself or any other person have supplemental facts to add, they’re welcome to express that at any time. If they don’t have a channel to do it in, I’ll be happy to publish their statement here, so no problem.

I don`t agree with your investigation regarding Rautenbach, your Blog should be about RALLY not about money and gossip regarding Conrad Rautebach money becouse probably there is much other facts and story is much bigger then you can imagine and how knows which people is involved in all this, becouse background of every similar story and main peoples usualy stay untouched and we will never find out correct facts!

Really excellent research work!

If all this is true, I’m glad someone with an interest in rallying dug this information out and not a newspaper. If Aftonbladet gets news of this information (one look at this blog) you can expect to read more about this than about Sandell or Flodin.

I hope Citroen investigates this and, if it’s true, take the appropriate action and turn it into positive PR for themselves instead of keeping quiet about it and receive negative PR.
